Marla Sanchez is a Staff Research Associate in the Environmental Energy Technologies Division at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. She holds an M.S. degree from the Energy and Resources Group at the University of California at Berkeley. Marla rejoined LBNL in December 2001 after working for three years at the United States Environmental Protection Agency’s ENERGY STAR program in Washington DC. While at EPA, she developed energy performance specifications for dehumidifiers and water coolers and managed the design and implementation of program evaluation and compliance testing initiatives.

Much of her current research includes evaluating the impacts of the ENERGY STAR voluntary product labeling program, researching the energy consumption and efficiency potential of the electronics end use, providing technical support to ENERGY STAR product development, repackaging technical results into consumer outreach materials, and analyzing energy use in buildings. Her past research includes residential supply curves of conserved energy and trends in electricity use of small household appliances.

Marla's two page resume and publications are available in pdf format at the links below. She has also been published as Marla McWhinney.
